HERE WE GO AGAIN Anyone SETTING Aug 30th - Sept 8th join me!!

Here is my "other" incubator, four hatched yesterday and one today. As you can see there are quite a few eggs still unhatched. I found one of the girls sneaking in there and laying her eggs and Cee Cee just pulls them on under her. I don't know if there will be anymore hatch or not, but she is still sitting on the eggs.

so cute

Aurgh. I put the last of the eggs in lockdown, 3 duck eggs, last night. Well, one pipped an hour later. And the poor baby...it is shrinkwrapped, as it hadn't been in there long enough for the increase in humidity to help. It is trying, so my eldest son and I have been helping a bit by picking off shell and rolling the membranes after wetting them a little. We had a bad moment when we saw blood, but it stopped. I had to snip the membrane around its beak area. I hope we get it out soon...he has a swim meet, and I have to work, so we have to leave tomorrow at 530am. I'd like a little sleep! The other two are really quiet. We are keeping the humidity up pretty well even with going in and out to work with the hatching.

The person I got them from says now she messed up the dates :( they should have gone to lockdown on Monday, not Thursday. She took them from the nest after the duck had sat a day or two. Oops.

We succeeded in getting it out. We picked shell, rolled the membranes and wet thing, put it back in the bator, over and over. Looks totally exhausted. I hope it does OK. No bleeding, and those membranes were tough.
