HERE WE GO AGAIN Anyone SETTING Aug 30th - Sept 8th join me!!

It opened its eyes when I looked at it a few minutes ago. Poor thing. I'm now really worried for the others. This one was really shrinkwrapped. I'm sure going in and out of the bator didn't help the others:( and it's probably too late in the year to find ducks online to order, right?

ETA: I found a place online to order day olds, just a few. And they have Swedish blues and blacks...that would go along with my Swedish Flower Hens, lol. And keep with the theme of black chicks. LOL

You can always look on the Buy,Sell, Trade part of BYC. Maybe someone on there has some.

Oh Kay, I just LOVE that top silkie cross hen. She is gorgeous!!!! If the chicks are very close in age I think it would work. Just slip them at night if you can. Just make sure she accepts them. I tried that with a couple of hens and they pecked the one I was trying to sneak in - I couldn't have that sooooo........

My Cee Cee girl just takes them all in. She is a terrific Mom! She wasn't in Mother form at the time or they would hae been given to her. Cindy, the chicks she's raising at the moment are Silkie Ameraucana crosses, and one Serama.

Thank you all for the compliments!!!

I slipped 3 extra chicks in with my broody last week--she had hatched 4, the new ones were about two days younger. The first morning she seemed less attentive to them than her other chicks, but not hostile--it was almost like she didn't see them. But by the second day, they were all family.

So glad to hear that they are a family and things are going well for your babies.
