whooooo hoooo thanks i have 4 white already , they eggs i left in have not hatched so think thats it for that batch . more due on 21st

brook , one of my chicks that hatched 24 hours ago is so sleepy all the time apart from when you hold him , the other 3 are running round and falling over as thay do as day olds and im just a bit worried about it . its cherping when you hold it but not in a pain way just in a where is the other chicks kind of way . i have given water and nutri drops but not seen it eat . it tends to walk up your hand but not round the brooder ?? any advice you can give me on why
 
Oh geez.

I just realized that I now have 7 baby chicks! I've never had so many at once before. Even my last staggered hatch was 4 +3, but they were a week or so apart from each other!

It's going to be difficult to do with 7 babies the things I've done with 3, like outside time and cuddle time. Plus, it's going to be interesting to round up 7 little flighty babies outside in the yard!!! lol

Oh boy, what did I get myself into!!

They can be sleepy for a day or so. Each one is different. Maybe she had a harder time hatching than the others and just needs to catch up. Try making a mash with the starter and try dipping her beak into it. I have a really good mash recipe that I feed to all my chicks for about 2 weeks. If you want it let me know.My black silkie from this hatch had a hard time hatching and it took about 3 days before it was acting normal. It sleep a lot and was a little smaller than the others.

ya send me that mash recipe thanks brook , she / he isnt smaller than others and hatched in about 6 hours i think .i have given water and seems to take it ok . is it 3 days that they live on the yolk ?
 
i have 2 of hers hatched already and its a day early im still waiting on the other ones to come....i went ahead and got more from her to...
