Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Celtic, by the way... did you win either buff dewlap auctions last night? Also, when do you get your eggs from Carole? Finally... any idea if dewlaps take the same time to hatch as toulouse?

Wish Pete was around... why is it again that dewlaps are so much harder than other breeds of geese?

You guys got me thinking about my buff dewlaps, because they are on day 25.

I got neither, had last 10 sec bidders both times.

Iain, Carole invoiced me for 4 eggs I paid right away, today she sends me a message through eBay telling me I still need to,pay. didn't get it till tonight so now she hasn't shipped my eggs on time. Kinda peeved since she knew I paid as soon as she sent it, now I will get old eggs because they won't arrive before the weekend. Odd as she was so on top of everything before today.

Bummer about not winning the auctions. That surprises me about Carole. I guess she is being hit/miss with some? I was persistent as all get out to reach them in the first place, but since then, I have had no issues with communications on either purchase. I bet the eggs will still be super fresh, though. She is selling the buffs as fast as her geese are laying them. She date marks every egg, so you will know exactly how old they are when you get them.

Cayuga (who is getting the nickname Molasses) is starting to get into gear after my last dose of polyvisol water, which he was literally lapping up as fast as I could offer it. Maybe he will hatch tonight after all.

I hate it when people snipe me! I'm so sorry.

Well, I found Poly-Vi-Sol at walgreens. MIxed it according to your directions. I will offer a drop or two every 30 minutes to everyone, and I'm making DH drop of Ruth (elder DD) to theatre, so I can attend my goslings, and hopefully end up with 2.sebs and 1 toulouse.

I think the silver "hairs" in the goose down of the sebs is really pretty. The Toulouse doesn't have that at all. I also like the different vocalizations, the little active seb says DE, de de de de at me a lot.

Great news Marty! With you there to attend to them, they should make it out just fine!!

Cayuga is finally trying to rotate... but like its name Molasses... he is taking his sweet time. He is hitting the imaginary day 21 line top center... so maybe 1/4" rotation?

Well, I hope that Cayuga gets here, and you can just watch! I'm sorry your starting to feel anxious about your impending Dewlap hatch. Is there anyone else who has hatched them you can talk to? You'd probobly know better than me what Celtic has hatched.

Hey Celtic - How are colored sebs for fall looking? Are you still going to save me a pretty pair of colors to send? Like lilac or some other cool color? I don't actually know what the color possibilities are for my sebs. I know one of Odies babies is still alive.

I may assist here and there if he gets stuck in the zipping process, but he should be able to hatch out by himself, with yolk sack fully absorbed and feeling strong.

Iain, email Pete directly. He has posted recently on the Sebastopol forum. My guess on the, giving trouble hatching is due to bulk. Kind of the opposit of call ducks.

Marty, 97% of our hatchlings are colored this year! I am growing out a blue splash female and she is looking amazing. I should have lilac, buff, grey, splashes in grey blue and buff (maybe), possibly lavender, maybe a few saddlebacks. We are very fortunate that our hatches are not doing to same as so many other Sebastopol breeders this year. We have high hatch rates where others are getting 1 or nothing.

August will begin juvenile sorting and assessments for keepers and sellers of all of Peaches babies. All other goslings are listed available currently, except for two. Will be posting photos of them all soon as well.
