What is this called? Splash? I'm sure its an unusual example, but if you have these I want some!

That is Blueberry Muffin by Vicky of CottageRose. An amazing example of a Sebastopol, and marked as a saddleback. That is who our Peaches and McGraw are from.

We have a trio of mildly splashed color girls we are breeding back to white ganders this year. I a, hatching eggs from 3 splash breeders and first on the list for another breeder for goslings.

So, had no idea yours would be related to this one! Must be a sign (hint hint). Is this goose still laying somewhere?

Question for all you experts out there. I just got home from work to check on the eggs. The one that's farthest along (shadowing started, oh, probably a day and a half ago)... I think it pipped internally. There are random shadows appearing and disappearing at the front of the dip, and at the back near the top, there is a wide shadow that comes to a point almost at the middle of the fat end of the egg. Thing is, it's nowhere near as clear as, for example, the internal pip pic on Pete's tutorial.

On top of it all, it peeped! Does that mean it must have pipped internally, in order to have air to peep? And not just one peep. It's a noisy little bugger. If I put my ear to the egg, I can hear what I think is breathing, but also a squelchy sound (maybe because it didn't lose enough moisture?). Do I now jack up the humidity? I'm sure if I just sat down and read through everything again, I'd find the answer, but my brain is mush after a long work day, and I'm a really anxious first timer! This pip, if it is indeed that, happened sometime today. No telling how long ago. How long until I should expect an external pip and/or how long before I'd need to "help" by making a tiny hole in the end? I know helping can go very very wrong, and would rather not if it doesn't need it, ya know?

I'd add a pic, but hubby isn't home yet, and I can't wield light, egg, and camera simultaneously.

Peaches and McGraw are from Vicky the breeder not that goose. Peaches is a smooth lilac and McGraw is a curly grey gander from Holderreads.

I believe Vicky is still breeding blueberry muffin this year. She doesn't sell eggs, and will post in the fall any available juveniles she is selling.

Bullcreek, you do not need to take a pic for us. If it is peeping, then it has pipped!!! Congrats!!!

After you talked about her, I tracked down her site. I've got her saved as a fav. so I can check back if inspired. Its too bad APA in US doesn't accept color sebs- I think the breed is richer for it. Are grays unusual in sebs? Mine are dark like her "belle", w/dark feet (and white toes) and dark beaks (with a white end).

I have to go look at more pics. Her site is interesting, but the fact is I only have so much goose space, so I won't be ordering her babies. Regarding hatching eggs, I've almost decided it must be preferable to simply wait and order older pairs, and let them just hatch their own eggs, rather than hatch out babies. I'm just sure this hatch has given me gray hairs.

I'm still giving drops of baby water (diluted as per your instruction). If I've noticed anyting different, its that its strong enough to try to keep me from opening its beak now. I guess I'll take it. If the poor little thing makes it through the night, its odds must improve. I see it twitching in its sleep, and occasioanlly it makes tiny sounds. I've got the "hospital" at 95-97 degrees now. Is there anything more I can do for it? Should I water it mid-night?
