Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

I'm with ya on the vent sexing. As soon as they start having a fit, I'm done. He just laid back and was like "ok, this is comfy". When they are relaxed, it seems possible. LOL.

I don't like to assist a hatch. I definatley will try to stay hands off, unless it seems more desperate. It's hard to always know, and there is no substitution for experience, but getting that experience can be a roller coaster. I've definatley learned a lot, but mosty I've learned that nature does it better. I'm happy for you that your comfy now. I remember feeling bad that the one baby died in its shell even though his beak was out, and I felt like I'd waited too long to open the shell a bit further. The others couldn'be used another half day. I didn't take them out, but they werent wrapped in place to keep them in either.

Awwww.... the 3 of us sitting at our computers, babysitting our solo hatchlings. Molasses is sleeping on my feet right now.

Awwww that's right! We all 3 have solo babies

I truly believe I would not have this baby at my feet right now if I had a hands off approach. But I agree that it takes experience to learn when to assist.... and that experience for me has been very hard gained, as I've lost quite a few babies in the learning process.

Ya thinking about assisting stresses me out. I would definitely be on here getting specific hand holding directions! LOL. I'm still worried that the air cell on my 3/17 that's going to internally pip soon isn't big enough.

I saw your pic, so I snapped a pic of squeeky. Just as I did, he pooped on me, and I had to go change sweat pants.
