I'm on "clear" wireless internet, and I've got the computer charged up and still plugged in. If we go down, its coming with us. I'll just keep its energy saved for telling people to either a)come help us or b) we're ok. I don't usually loose electricity. I had the lines buried last year to presearve the historic integrity of the place. Oh, and the big elect. thing is accross the street from me and just down the road.

I don't know ETA, its a big patch, but like I said, I'll be watching. The little dog is afraid of storms, and always lets us know casue she cries and wines and tries to get under our shirts when bad weather is coming. (And my arthritus says stay home. I'm a little worried though cause my DD is going to be at the theatre from 12:30 - 4 or so.

Really? They don't shut things down in this kind of weather? I grew up in hurricane land... and all stores/places were closed and boarded up a good 12 hours before storm edge came onshore.

Marty, glad to hear you have good safe places to bunker down.! I love old historic homes. My mom lives in one. Her only complaint is that she has to stay within certain guidelines on paint colors, renovations, etc.

Marty, glad to hear you have good safe places to bunker down.! I love old historic homes. My mom lives in one. Her only complaint is that she has to stay within certain guidelines on paint colors, renovations, etc.

Some are limited by historic district rules, but there is no color rule overall. I know some districts are very limiting, and that could be a drag. I can paint anything any color. And remodels ae allowed to baths and kitches, but they do not want the historic fabric that remains to be changed or altered. That said, I love the old stuff, so I don't mind anyway. My complaint is that it is cold in the winter, and I can't use many types of insulation, becasue of the physical limits due to lathe and plaster walls.

My mom is in North Carolina. I think her limitations are just for the exterior at least
