Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Those are good pictures of the food, Iain, and I'm sure they will help. Good for you helping spirit out to the best of your ability. I'm sure its great Kharma, and spirit will appreciate your efforts as she enjoys a long normal life.

Thanks, Marty.

How are all of your special dewlaps and sebbies? By the way, Chicory has much prettier coloring than my toulouse from the other lady. She has more of a buff chest and lighter grey/brown wing feathers. What is yours turning out like?

Hi Iain!

All the goslings are doing just great. Luna has lovely gray feathers coming in, and continues to big a very big girl, but a few buffs are cathing up. Stormy, the only gray dewlap, is still a little guy, but he's growing. Everyday the Luna and the dewlaps and Samantha (the little sebbie), four khaki ducks, and one lonely white turkey hang out togather. The ducks try to bully everyone, and its funny, cause they are the little guys.

I keep meaning to take pics, so I'll try to remember again tonight. Honestly, I think the toulouse have the cutest bottems ever with the big double butt dewlap!

The sebbies from Celtic are doing awesome, and diamond, the grey male, has managed to keep his angel wing wrap on for 6 days now. Do I leave it on for 7 or 10? I'm thinking 10, since it took about 2 weeks to keep it on more than two days. Also, one of the gray sebs has the most georgous mix of buff and gray feathers on a blanket of white. I'll be disappointed it celtic is right, and she doesn't keep the calico, bur for now it is very distinctive.

Glad they are all doing well! I would LOVE to see pics!!!!!!! I too absolutely adore the double saggy butt look on all of my dewlaps. Chicory is bigger than the other utility toulouse, even though she is 2 weeks younger, but Barley is bigger than all of them, and she is 3 days younger than Chicory. I worry about how Spirit is going to handle the growth spurt that will take place over the next 30 days.

As for the wrap, since it was a pita to get it wrapped up, probably better to not try to unwrap to check, then re-wrap again for another few days. I don't think it will hurt to just leave it on for the full 10 days, unless it looks to be constricting movement, eating/drinking.

He's doing fine with it, which is why I'm considering the 10 day program. Its bad enough that he doesn't trust me, but to have to undue and redue again, well I'm thinking not!

Glad to hear your babies are all doing so well. It is funny who ends up being biggist, isn't it? Now, to be sure I'm not confused, is Barley the Erin baby?

LOL! Good call on the not undoing wrap decision.

Barley is my buff dewlap girl (in my avatar).

Iain, make sure to keep the updates coming about Teva and Spirit.....like I even need to tell/ask you that, but I am really interested in it. Very neat that the Teva guy is willing to help. Quite amazing you even got ahold of him.

Happy to give updates on the Spirit/Teva front. I am so excited to be working with the teva custom shoe designer. After talking with him, I vetwrapped Spirit's club. Lo and behold she had traction and did not splay once last night (for the 1st time in 6 days since we started exercise program)! She seems visibly stronger with the vetwrap on her club. I may try to increase outside time today to an hour. And after reporting my success with the vet wrap to the teva guy yesterday afternoon, he began brainstorming about how to attach rubber material to the vetwrap to use until she reaches full size in a couple of months and can wear her permanent custom shoe. I also sent him the additional close up pics of her foot and a tracing of the bottom of foot, per his request. He is very optimistic that we can fashion something that will work great for Spirit.

Here is a pic of her feet with the vet wrap.

I am pretty blown away at the teva guy's interest and generosity, but as for reaching him, it is actually not so amazing. It's my job to research and investigate, find the right people for a particular project, and get them hired. I was just putting my basic skills to use for a personal cause.
