Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

I have my hatcher going and getting ready for my little 3/8 baby who is at day 26 today! I candled tonight and everything is looking good. The air cell is growing a lot each day and has a definite slant. I guess that is the dipping?? It's stressful when you can't see movement anymore because the egg is so full. Hopefully he or she is still doing ok

I went ahead and tossed 2 of the 3/28 eggs that were clearly infertile (thanks to that dang duck!). The verdict is still out on one, and the other has great veins and a little guy in the center. So, I have 4 definites and one "maybe."
Lucinda has 2 eggs in her nest right now. I thought she was done laying, but she's still popping some out! I'm going to see if she lays anymore and will sit....so we'll see!

I have a question ..... what the heck do I do with chicken eggs???? when do I turn off the urner? Do I remover the eggs and if I do ... do I stand them up or lay them down.? can I pull some of them 2 days early as trying to make sure I have some hatch while grandkids are here.

Goosed, very cool! Look for shadows on non dipped side of air cell. Then you will see the position of the air cell slant as the baby enters air cell and internally pips.

Sue, I wouldn't know the first thing about hatching chicken eggs... I only know duck and goose hatching, sorry.

The air cell is already slanted, but there's no shadows yet. I'm confused

Why does this incubating business make me feel so dumb?! lol. I guess I'm just so worried about getting everything right.

Air cell dip as baby turns, but the bottom side of air cell is the same. Then, after baby has turned he will slide up bottom of egg into air. Thar is first seen by shadows along back of air cell.

Ok, I will be looking for the shadowing now. Thank you sooo much for your help!

No worries. I have pics of stages of internal pipping that I will post for you tomorrow. Plus, Pete has great pics in the goose hatching guide in sticky section at top of forum.
