Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

OMG!!! It has internally pipped!!!!

It looks like a little beak! I tried to get a picture but It wouldn't turn out and I didn't want to keep pestering it. I could see it moving around too so that's good.
Holy freakin crap!! It's about to happen!

Goose, does it look like the bottom picture I just posted? If so, time to keep that bator locked tight.

I know Pete says to bump humidity when you see external pip, but if your room humidity is dry like mine (approx 20%), you may want to start slowly bumping humidity up now. In my observations, it usually takes about 24 hours between internal and external pip.

During this 24 hour process, the lung system starts to work in the baby and its breathing goes from faint and irregular to normal rhythm and fairly easy to hear, and the extensive veining in the membrane will recede into the baby. It will move around a lot because it is eating up the inner membrane now on the inside of the egg too.

It looks more like the first one, but a bit darker. I'm pretty sure I can see the beak. My humidity is around 35% so conditions aren't as dry as yours. I'm guessing I should wait to bump humidity until I see an external pip? I'm glued to that bator, so no worries about missing it when it happens!

Did you draw the pencil line on air cell? That is the easiest way for me to tell internal pip, because you will see the dark mass cross over that line on the bottom of egg. If you look carefully at 2nd pic you can see how the pencil line disappears into black mass that goes almost all the way into the tip of the egg.

Ya I have the pencil lines and it's over the line on the bottom

Great news! That means the baby should be moving into proper internal pip position. Eventually you will see the tip of the beak near shell, like in the 2nd pic. If everything has gone just right, it will externally pip on day 21 line on the right hand side (fat end facing you).

This is so stressful!! and so exciting!! So, is it normal to see the beak down at the bottom like I think I'm seeing it now? I'm gonna peek again and see if there's any changes. I'll try to get some pics too!

Ok, got some good pics. I have a maglite, and so I fashioned a light tunnel out of and unused paint roller thingy. It allowed light into the egg but also provided enough surrounding ambient light for the pics to turn out. Perfect! -pats self on back- ....LOL

This last one shows the good air cell size
