Things are still looking good for my egger. I had to add a wet sock to keep my humidity up. No signs of external pipping yet, but I did hear even louder clicking and felt it tapping or doing something!

Marty, today is day 27 for which eggs??? You are not seeing the dramatic air cell drop yet? Can you see movement at membrane along back edge of aircell??

Its Erins Toulouse. Its hard for me to see small detail, but mostly because Ii have somewhat poor eyesight even w/glasses. Its the only one on day 27, and the air cell is the only one starting to dip at all. It will be day 28 for the 4 sebs/1 toulouse; on Monday.

Mine haven't changed much. Tomorrow is day 28, and none ofo the 6 eggs have shifted much at all.

What kind of geese? I forget with all the eggs everyone has on the other thread, and am trying to read this thread from the beginning but I'm back at page 20 so not caught up here except for what's happened in the past 24 hours.

Between this, our thread, and the easter hatchalong thread I spend way too much time on byc I think.

And I haven't hatched geese yet, but most of my eggs drop a day or 2 before pip dramatically so I would give them another day or 2 before worrying.

Julie, the day 27 egg is a utility toulouse. I have same egg on day 23... and I am seeing dipping and movement indicating turning.

Goosed, usually when the external pipping process is in gear (everything about waterfowl is a process).... the egg will vibrate hard side to side for an extended period, followed by a sharp jerk motion and you can hear the tap of beak on shell. Often, the baby will also go "squeak squeak squeak" right afterward.

Chik, I'm so pleased to hear the 3 are still alive!!  Have they internally pipped yet??

Before I went to town this morning I had the three live and well babies, came home and now I only have one left. And he seems to be going strong, and hasn't internally pipped yet

Chik, are you sure the other 2 are not still going? I don't know if you should intervene or not to help the last guy.... hopefully Celtic will show up soon. She is the better person to advise you at this point.

Iain, I am positive that they aren't still going. The way they are positioned its like they can't turn properly, and I was wondering if I should help the last one?

On the 2 not going, you can try scoring shell on pointy end with something like an exacto knife or sharp edge eyeglasses screwdriver, then using tweezers to peel outer shell surface away. Then use a sewing needle to peel/lift outer membrane away, like getting a splinter in your finger concept. Then repeat on the internal membrane. If they are not going, then good exercise for future. But, you could be surprised maybe that they are still going? are you seeing any blue staining on pointy end? If so, enter shell in that location. I have hatched a few out that way.... more have not made it... so not great odds, but still worth it.

Take a picture of the remaining living baby and post. Again, hopefully Celtic will show up soon to help.

Here it is
