Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Who's excited about getting eggs tomorrow? Much to my surprise, I found 2 more eggs in Lucinda's nest today, so I will set those as well. I have a feeling they may not be fertile, but what the heck!

I know!!! AND he looks more BROWNISH than Gray!!!!!!! Thanks Erin.

Your welcome I hope you have better luck with the next batch!!!!

Celtic, I for one, am happy to have your advice. When you are dealing with expensive pet birds, each one deserves a watchful eye and a readiness to step in and assist.

As you now, I left all alone 3 hatches ago, and every baby died. Almost all had internal pipped, half had external, and one 3/4 way zipped. Then, the last 2 hatches I stepped in and found shrink-wrap again. I hatched 9 of 12 ducklings and then 4 of 5 goslings. You were there to help and guide me with the hatches and I am very grateful.

If I don't hear clicking from my bator tomorrow on day 26 for my cayugas, I will be relying on you to guide me through stepping in to check on my babies.

I'm picking up a dozen cottage hill black copper marans tomorrow!

I will set them in with the other chicken eggs I have going right now. The first batch is at 10 days today. I'm wanting to build a colorful egg collection of hens. But just a couple of each. I don't want a bunch of chickens. Heaven forbid something infringe on my goose village!

Mohibilly, there are some great sales on eBay right now. And Celtic has African eggs for sale. Erin can probably round up a few more Toulouse too. Plenty of eggs around.

Goosed, yay on getting more eggs! Tomorrow will feel like Xmas here since I am getting 3 packages of eggs!

Sorry I wasn't on posting more. Taking a step back from the other thread so I don't have to bite my tongue so to speak. Too much bad advice, and misconceptions to keep up with. That and I have been accused of encouraging people to help hatch eggs that they shouldn't be.

Don't worry Celtic, I wasn't going to do a thing unless they were in obvious distress. I didn't mean to do so much for this one, but his membraine was dry and white, and I just couldn't let it be another turkey thing. He just wasn't moving along, and moving less and less. I got a bit worried. Once I opened it, there was all this empty space, and I couldn't get to his membraine without room.

I'm glad your here. Please, can you tell me what the usual hatch day is for sebs? Does this little one look like I broke in a day too soon? I just so want to get it right.

BTW, I didn't cover him up at all. The humidity is 85%, so I didn't figure he'd dry too much. His head and body have shifted, and he actually pulled his head back in for the pic. He did have his head out, but I guess it wasn't very cozy.

I'm just gonna rub him with some water on a Q, and candle the sebs. If nobodies got a beak int. pipped, then I won't do anything (yet).

Marty, what is the latest on your Toulouse? I for one am so happy you stepped in when you did and hope you are ready to do the same for your sebbies if needed. How awful that all your other babies died from shrinwrap. At least with this guy, you have a great chance he will be just fine.
