Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Just got home and checked the babies.

The Toulouse is doing pretty good. He's out of his shell on his own, and has absorbed the egg sac. He's a sqeeker now. He's in there telling stories to the other babies, apparently. His umbus looks a bit odd, but I think he'll be up and around w/i 24 hours.

The little sebs are all doing ok. One is trying to escape from his egg, he's about 10% on his own now, and he's fussing at me a bit. The others are still chilling, but the squeek and move their beeks and open their eyes when I dampen their membranes-which are definatley thinning out and losing vessels.

Hey Marty,

Check the Toulouse baby to make sure it is t still attached to the shell. From the picture it looks like it could be.

By tomorrow you should see new progress from the Sebastopols.

Going to be MIA, about to call the PO for an update on the missing goslings. Then monitoring the auction ending tonight after dinner. All previously hatched geese are out in the brooder house. Newest silver head is out of its shell and in the recovery nicu until on its feet.

Iain how is the Toulouse egg doing?

Looks like he hasn't fully absorbed everything. If there is blood in the cord then leave it. If its dried or clear then cut so it isn't drug behind the gosling.

They will look odd to you compared to a duckling who hatched unassisted on time. Since the Toulouse was helped it will have the bump until everything is fully absorbed.

24 hours should show lots of change.

Marty, so awesome that these babies look like they will make it just fine!!!!

Celtic, I haven't checked. Will check now.

My toulouse has an ideal looking dip. The body has moved just across back of day 21 line. I see shadows way up in back and beginning shadowing in front/sides. It has a lot of strength to it. Day 27 will start in 2 hours.

Marty, based on pics I got from Carole, a buff toulouse will hatch out a light fuzzy yellow. Your baby looks like my greys.
