Iain sorry I missed your call and text. The baby needed massive snuggles and I called it a night.
It is beautiful here today, hoping to build more gosling play pens and the get everyone out in the yard today.
Out of the three new Sebastopols hatched 1 grey saddleback passed 8 hours post hatch. (was the wrong way baby) woke this morning to my Peaches goslings gone. She/he was weak from the get go of hatching, but did poly visol and save a chick hoping it was just post hatch sleepiness. No such luck so now waiting for next weeks hatch of more Peaches babies.
4/4 Buff SB Pomeranian eggs from Kawonu have internally pipped, and atleast 1 as of this morning has externally. Should see them start popping out by tomorrow. We have three more from Kawonu and 1 from Mrs Magoo all growing nicely. Will be a pretty flock for sure.
Shellie, no worries. You have trained me so well that I was able to channel you in my mind last night and (as you can see from the pics) got my new toulouse baby out just fine!
How awful about your goslings!! Hope next week's hatch goes better!!!
I'm sorry about your sebbie babies Celtic. I guess its just not their week.
I hope baby is a happy hungry fellow tonight, and the poms hatch out with no trouble. Nada from the muscoveys yet, and since the humidity is in the low 80s, I've left the bator shut tight. What I want from this is a hen or two for hatching my other big eggs (like future geese). If I don't get any, do you want to hatch me a few to send with the chicks when they get around to laying?
Aw, so are you gonna name the toulouse brown sugar to go with molassis?
Yay, well I guess that makes the first official hatch buddy thing officially confluded. 12 eggs shipped, 2 babies arrived. Maybe we'll do better on this one. Anyone candled and viewed spider veins yet from Erins new eggs? I peeked last night, but no veins yet. (it was a day early, and I can't always see before day 7)
Marty, not sure yet, but giving serious consideration to calling it Blackstrap.....
I gave my new eggs a quick candle this morning. I have beginning spiders in 6 of Carole's eggs, 1 spider in an ebay egg... and quite a few others that look like they will develop.
I think Blackstrap is good! Esp. since hes probobly a gray too. (or girl) Its all good, really. Since all these dewlaps are due 2 days before DHs bday, I'm going to gift him some for his own, if they hatch. I'd love it if the two grays hatched, I'd give him those!
