Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

BYC is so odd, I had an email update of Ian's reply to Erin, before I was notified of Erin's pst.

Erin, good luck with the hatch coming up.

Iain, interesting about the wilds moving in, we run off wild waterfowl if we can to prevent cross breedings and any disease they may have. The dogs help with that.

Celtic, so far my ganders are not allowing the wild geese to get close to the babies. I think it is cool if they want to be in horse pasture, but I don't think I'd want them over on the house side of property where I will keep my dewlaps. We plan to build a fenced area within the fenced backyard so dogs can patrol around them.

fed some kale I pulled out of the garden to all the babies today, and gave them grit for the first time. They completely loved it!!! The ducks went gaga for it!

Need to plant some kale. I gave mine some bibb and mesclun a few days ago and they didn't touch it. I think they prefer to pick their own salads.

Picky brats. Maybe I should try again and give it to the ducklings in the brooder.

My goslings turn their noses at peas and some even at romaine... but they all (ducks and geese) go gaga for kale. Glad your babies love it as much as mine!

How about a couple pics of my baby from your eggs. He turned 2 weeks old yesterday and is a sweetie!

And of course, I cannot resist another pic of Barley, my super buff baby:
