Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Hopefully we'll both have little gosling(s) soon!
we need more goslings all of us

Ok, my goose egg is on day 26. Air cell is growing larger each day, gosling has filled up the egg. I can see shadows pushing up into the air cell, but no internal pip yet. Temp 100, humidity has been raised to 60%(because there are quail pipping in there too), will raise to 80% once it pips. I've quit turning so the gosling can turn. Everything sound good?

Here is the air cell from the side.

And here is the back with the shadowing.

Yay!

Thanks for the warm welcome back, Sue!

While I am looking forward to my next hatch, I'm kind of glad it is not for another 12 days. Barley is a major handful so that with him, my Erin Toulouse, who is also a total baby, and my other 3 Toulouse youngsters, I have more than enough goslings to occupy my time at the moment. :)

Went out and checked the girls today no babies yet, BUT I can hear them pecking in the shell!!!!!!!!!!!!! One I picked up and it started rocking in my hand...Shouldn't be long now~~

Wonder how many I will have and what colors..

Keep you posted!

So looking forward to ship day coming up soon. We still have two full racks of goose eggs yet to hatch this spring. Looking like only 2 out of 6 buff dewlaps are growing. Need to wash an area on most so I can really see what's going on since they are so darn dirty.

Had a bobcat in the pasture Friday night. We had a flock of unwanted/needed roosters out there full time with the goats and Africans. The cat took me of the Roos. Of course it was right as we fed the dogs for the evening and hubby was grilling on the pool patio. So became an all hands on deck to move the nesting African and her gander, the goats and the Roos in for the night.

Hoping tomorrow we start seeing shipping boxes arrive for the goslings set to be heading out. Aside from the newest hatchlings, all available goslings have been sold.

I had an interesting morning with my ganders & african juvenile flock. The flock is now in a routine of sleeping overnight by ponds in pasture, then coming up to feeding area when I feed horses in the morning. Since we turned babies out, we have seen a pair of canadian geese attempt to integrate with flock... and this morning there are now 2 pairs in my pasture! The one pair appears to be setting up a nest and the other pair tried to come up to my birds. One gander ran them off while the other gander herded them away. I found it very fascinating, but I have no idea what it all means. I tried to get pics... they didn't turn out too well, but I think you can see. The first pic is where the one gander is starting his charge while the other is herding babies away. The 2nd pic is after gander finished his charge and returning with the one canadian pair together by fence and the other pair (which appear to be setting up a nest?) is just behind them. Oh, and please disregard all the tires.... that is our drag that hubby forgot to put away the other week.

Sounds like your geese have a pretty great home if there are wild ones trying to move in.

The friend I got my egg from has some that have moved in permanently, and stay year round.

when I check the tracking, it showed drop off time, and received time, both last mon/tue. Nothing posted since, I PMd her to check on it, but nothing yet. I'll go check again today I guess.
