Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Mmm.

I looked that up along with your Wednesday night's dinner.

I make something along the lines of the Aussie chicken. I call it' Throw it on and see if they'll eat it.'
I may have to try the King Ranch chicken. Does anyone do it in a pastry shell, like a really savory pot pie?
I've always just used tortillas, cut don't see why you couldn't change it up some. I'd try it! Who doesn't love chicken pot pie, right?

The Aussie chicken was a hit, but kinda time consuming. I may try making something similar in a casserole type dish, just all the same flavors.

There's never a "see if they'll eat it" around here--it's more like "get your's first before the locusts descend and strip the kitchen bare".

HAA! That sounds like my place!!

We're having "dinner" for "lunch" today. -pork chops, steamed broccoli, sweet potatoes, squash sautéed with purple onion and bacon, and fresh bread sticks. -hubby has to go into work 'round dinner time so he'll be toting the packed sandwich "lunch" for "dinner". -figured we better have one decent meal for the day.

Now I'm feeling bad--when my honey has to work in the pm, I just rejoice that I don't have to cook! The boys are happy foraging for themselves.

Okay, I'm over it!

Tonight is spaghetti and meatballs. Some frozen veggie, maybe green beans. I'm craving zucchini, sure wish it was summer! Grilled zuke

I agree, zucchinni does sound good! We just returned from a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. So supper is left over weekend food....smoked salmon, salami , cheese and crackers!

Tonight we will beef pot roast adobo with mashed potatoes, green beans, and biscuits. The pot roast is cooking already, and it smells so very good.

A little help with my biscuits, please.
Here's my recipe:

1 cup flour
1 cup Bisquick mix
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup shortening (butter)
3/4 cup milk

I love the way they taste, but they are a little 'heavy'. Any way that I can lighten them up?

Taco salad here tonight. Honey's got a mild pneumonia and is craving Mexican food, so this will give him his fix, and good veggies too!

Sourland--wish I could help you on the biscuits. I only make drop biscuits and they're pretty hearty. The better to stand up under all the gravy, doncha know

my kiddos have youth group and a choir practice tonight, and they're provided dinner. So, honey and I will have pizza too, from Papa Murphy's. And salad.
