My secondary/overflow food storage is in our detached garage. It's all of 10 feet from the house, but when you ask a certain teenage boy to get you something from the garage, he would act like he had to traverse the Sahara or something. Kinda embarrassing to admit, but I'd started just going out to get things myself most of the time, instead of the hassle of asking him. Tonight I was making tarter sauce and ran out of mayo. I'm tired and didn't want to either go out myself or put up with the hassle, so I subbed sour cream for part of the mayo. Well, he said several times how the tarter sauce tasted funny--I finally told him about subbing the sour cream and why. He assured me he would go out any time to get what I needed if it would make things taste "right" . So, I guess I simply needed to find the right motivation. Who knew it would be tarter sauce? Personally, I kind of liked it with the sour cream......
Hey, Rachel, you know that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Of course in my case it's just the converse. The Princess wants a new stove. My reply, "Why? Are you going to take over the cooking?" I have no idea what I am making, if anything, for tonight. She went to get her hair done and visit our daughter, and I have not had the motivation to plan anything.
