Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

now that sounds good

It was good. Freezing seems to bring out more flavors, and the left overs will taste even better.

Tonight we used up most of the leftover chili as redneck nachos. I'll have to go veggie heavy the next few days to make up for the skimpy leafy greens lately.

But, if I buy some Fritos tomorrow, I can have a darn fine lunch with the last bit of chili

grilled cheese tonight.
We were at the store looking at quick food for dinner... Burger is just too expensive. All my quick and dirty meals are now out of my price range.

Isn't this the truth? Having low carbers in the house is getting to be quite the challenge, budget wise. they just don't realize how much $$ they're scarfing down at each meal. What's saving us right now is having raised those last pigs. Not sure what I'm going to do when they're gone, but that's a bout a year away.

Speaking of pork--tonight is pork steaks on the grill, mashed taters and salad. Not so inspired, but everyone here will love it.

We had a movie night (San Andreas) and I decided to do appetizers, something I don't usually do. Everyone got to choose something, so we wound up with an odd assortment--spinach dip and chips, fried wings with sweet and sour sauce, little smokies in apricot bbq sauce, pizza rolls, bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese. Kinda eclectic, but we enjoyed it.
