Annesas Muse I am relieved to hear your friend is ok. You must have been so concerned.

MenagrieMama and ams I hope you are both feeling much better. Please don't feel like a bad Mom for letting them eat Ramen. That is the first thing my DS and DH reach for when I am not cooking! They think its a treat! Silly men.

Backyard Buddies I am sorry for taking so long. It has been so nice that I find it hard to stay inside long enough to type a recipe! My Aunt always called this Cabin Stew because she cooked it on the wood stove in a dutch oven and let it simmer all day. I use the good ole crock pot!

2lbs stew meat ( I use deer)
1 cup frozen veggies (I use peas and corn)
I small onion chopped
4 diced up potatoes
1/2 cup red wine (I was surprised that this was for the stew and not for the cook

2 sliced carrots
Family size can of cream of mushroom soup
1 cup celery
salt and pepper
water to the consistency you like it
2 cloves crushed garlic

I put it all in together and let it cook on low for about 8 hours or high for 4 hours

We are having Tacos! I took the easy way out!!

We are having Bacon Mushroom quiche with a side of hash browns.

I hope everyone is feeling great and enjoying this wonderful Wednesday!
 
ok, tell me what I can do with about 2 pounds of loose sausage from the freezer. Besides biscuits and gravy.

Thanks everybody! I am feeling much better- the cold is gone except for this lingering cough. Anyway, tonight we are having Papa Murphy's pizzas and brownies. Yay for no cooking tonight

I won't even go into the lovely barometric pressure thing ..so umm... we ate "freezer food" last night ....and I will ..hopefully.... do something with some prawns, tonight. I did make some dough ..so I'll get that out in a bit and dip each roll in sharp cheddar and jalapeno rings ..and bake. If it goes with the shrimp ..all the better ....and if not ..OH WELL!!

We are having dry limas cooked with hamhocks, fried taters and cole slaw. . .we are suppose to eat more legumes because they are so healthy for us. I was dirt poor as a kid, wonderful parents, just poor and we ate a lot of beans . . . so this is NOT my favorite meal, but the taters and cole slaw will make up for it.

I made Kani-tama (a Japanese omelette with crab and shiitaki mushrooms with sauce) served with "sticky" rice. Sliced cukes with a rice wine dressing on the side.
