Hey Grandpa, What's For Supper?

Tutter that sounds refreshing and really yummy. I usually do more salads when the weather gets warm. We are still having unseasonably cool weather and I actually have the furnace on again.

We also do alot of cheese, crackers, sliced summer sausage and fruit plates when it's warm. With Jello and whipped cream for dessert.

I think tonight I'm making sausage patty's, fried potatos with chopped onion and peppers and scrambled eggs.

Redfeathers, we do our share of cheese, cracker etc. platters when it's hot, too.

That sounds good! We sometimes have that meal on a weekend morning, but it makes a great dinner, too!

Scrambled Egg, it's been ages since I've had anything like that. It's a good thing to remember! As for the cheesecake, I'm jealous!

Hi, Parsonswife! That sounds like a terrific Sunday dinner, regardless of the day! One of my favorite pies, next to chocolate, is lemon! Generally I make it a lemon meringue, because the filling for the lemon pie uses the same amount of yolks as the meringue topping uses white. The way I see it, you shouldn't bother trying to go against some things!

Is your mower working? I left you a post under the original on it.

Hi Tutter,
Not yet. He's been out on calls, visits, and work. I looked as best I could, wiggled some wires, pushed it around a little..but nothing...he's planning on working a little this evening on it...

Thank you for your info....I showed it to him.

I always make the lemon meringue myself, my MIL makes one with cool whip, it's quick...but not nearly as good. (shhh)

Tonight is chicken sauteed in olive oil and garlic (lots!) with sundried tomatoes, spinach, pasta, pine nuts and feta cheese; salad, garlic bread and Bananas Foster for dessert. It was a quick meal so we could get over to the garden and fix all the leaking faucets. Dessert will be in a while.

Tonight is hamburgers on the grill with a fresh fried squash. To tired to care really whats for supper.
Worked all day, then DH and I tilled up 2 more rows in the new garden spot and planted another row of peas and row okra.

Dreamy!!!! Fry me some okra with that squash and I'll be right there!!!!

Sounds like here....madly dealing with all aspects of the garden. I hope you got it all taken care of. We put leaky pipe on Freecycle, and have had an overwhelming response...I guess everyone's settling into their gardens about now!

You too, 2dream? We are having some exhausting garden-days, also. Black eyed peas? Here we don't plant green peas this late, so I was wondering which you meant. It'll be worth it when it's producing, though.

Aww, thank you, Scrambled Egg!

I used to make the one from cream cheese, but I was a sucker for a piece of "real" cheesecake from the bakery, too. It didn't matter which to me, I adjusted!

I would imagine that Yogi is catching up with his chickens and garden, and taking care of family business. I hope he'll post when he can, and is up to it, too. He's sure missed when he can't be here.

Backyard Buddies, I'm so glad that ds likes flan. I meant to put it on this month's menu the last time it was talked about, and forgot! I'm sure I can squeeze it in, since I just made it!

Happy Birthday to DS!

Ray, there's a rule. Only make ribs if you bring enough for everyone!

Tutter That would be brown crowder peas, purple hull and Mississippi Silver Peas.

Scrambled Just planted the okra yesterday afternoon. But will cook you some as soon as I can.

I hope Yogi and Linda are about caught up and getting some rest.

OOOH! Oh I am SO coming over tomorrow night! LOL (fish crackers and water for me tonight, LOL)

A place will be set - swing on over anytime - you know you're always welcome (mom, sister & brother, too)!
Haven't decided on dinner tonight - time to figure out my menu for the week.
