That salmon sounds great BCB! I bet it'd also be great cooked on a plank on the BBQ. I have a similar recipe I make that is done that way and it's amazing. The one I have uses sun dried tomato dressing and additional sun dried tomatoes.

I'll have to try yours!

Roger, Let me give you a recipe for Pork Chops that are awesome...

Ms. Julie, I just saw your post earier today. Thank you so much for the recipe. Pork is my first meat of choice. You can bet I am going to try this. It sounds delicious.

Is there anything that you can't do? lol My goodness, that is some real comfort food. You will have to be carefull posting things like that or you will start drawing company like flies.

Oh believe me Roger, I am hardly ever without company. All my Grandchildren and my three sons always wanting me to cook cornbread. My oldest son said , Mama the only problem with your cornbread is the pan is not big enough. I like to cook it in pones in the oven till crispy. Just stoneground meal, salt and water. Get the oil hot in the cast iron skillet and then put the pones in.
On the pork chops, a preacher's widow cooked it one Wed nite at our family nite supper and they were so good I have never fried pork chops again.
I grew up with 8 siblings and was next to the oldest so I have been cooking a long time. Have three sons so I continued cooking. I have 5 sisters so it gets to be a contest on Holidays when we can all get together. Each one has specialties though.
Roger, you know everyone doesn't know how to cook good greens and such. The seasoning is so important. Everytime i see your menu I just think it sounds like Roger knows how to cook greens.
Take turnip greens. I like to cook some pork ribs till they are falling off the bones then add my turnip greens and cook till tender and then cut all the meat up in them.
Well I have talked to long.

Fresh Zuccini and Squash, sliced and doctored with Italian Season, onions, garlic and butter cooked on the grill, added cheese just before we took them off the grill. UMMMMMMMMM were they good. Next time they get a little lemon juice.
Also on the grill were chicken breast and galic bread.
If it does not rain soon, soon, soon, that will be the last of my Squash and Zucks.

We did the comfort thing tonight....

chicken fried steak (with cubed pork, it's much more tender than beef)...
creamy white gravy to dunk it in...
mac and cheese out of the box (!)
green beans w/bacon

I'm as full as a durn tick!!! Won't have much room for that angel food cake that I've been looking forward to all day.

Just hand that cake over and I'll take care of it for you.

Your dinner sounds so good. I've never made chicken fried steak but I love it in the restaurants!!

Talk about some comfort food tonight: Wow!

Red beans and sausage
Pot Roast in brown gravy
Fresh yellow squash smothered down with onions
Fried green tomatoes - yeah!
Rice
Cornbread
Cold sweet milk

I wish all of you could have enjoyed this as much as I did. I'm feeling quite comfortable right now. As Amy said, "Full as a tick".

Ms Julie: If after all these years I don't know how to cook greens, then I'm in some serious trouble.

But then I could probably get 2dream or tutter to teach me how. And Amen, it's the seasoning that makes the greens as well as all other veggies.
Your cornbread is what I grew up on. Best dang kind of cornbread known to man. Sticks to your ribs!
Those butter beans I cooked Saturday with those smoked pork ribs in them was not bad at all, if I must say so myself. Good eating!

Mmmmm....butterbeans....Yogi, that sounds amazingly great, even though I'm full!!!

Redfeathers, c'mon over, I'll share with ya! I'll even rush out and grab some storebought strawberries for it!!! (No fresh ones in my garden....don't know how

Amy I have never tried Strawberries till this year. Dont' know why. I bought four plants for the Grands to plant and low and behold I am picking strawberries. With four plants it is only a handful at the time but I didn't do anything special except I make hills for my plants.
I sure am looking forward to some fresh butterbeans this year and some feild corn. We had a drought last year and i didn't get any corn cream for the freezer. I think I have one bag of white peas and about 5 half gallon bags of okra left in the freezer.
I busted out laughing when I read you were full as a tick. Haven't used that term in a while. Love it.

Hmm..well, like I said, I haven't tried before....when is the optimal time to plant strawberries? I'm down in La., so we have a pretty darn long growing season. Might have to see if I can try next year, just for giggles, so to speak....

Anyway, since I'm already here, tonight we are having stuffed manicotti pasta with ground deer, Rotel and Velveeta, covered with a marinara sauce and sprinkled with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Haven't tried it before, but sounds pretty good, so will see what happens!!!

My MIL had some FRIED broccoli and cheese yesterday, said she grabbed it out of the frozen section, let me tell ya, that stuff was GREAT!! I was shocked, I normally don't like breaded frozen stuff. Wouldn't mind having some of that, as well.
