LOL ~ we had donuts this morning ~ leftovers from yesterday, no less. And we had basically nothing for lunch ~ but for an early dinner, we got together with some lovely Hawaiian friends, another family in the area, a gentleman from Russia, & a gentleman our friends knew from the Family History Center ~& we had:

breaded mahimahi tuna
jasmine rice
some sort of sausage things
a broccoli salad
a macaroni salad
pani popo rolls (sooo delicious!!)
stovetop with sausage
ham
cranberry sauce

&

mashed potatoes & yams
sweet potatoes
drippins' gravy
turkey in a bag
rolls
olives

&

spiced peach pie
blackberry strawberry pie
apple pie
double layer pumpkin pie
icecream

WHEWW~~ so there are lots of leftovers, & you can just imagine this menu for about... oh... the next week or so!

Love all the variety gang!

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs (yucky store eggs

& Starbuck's coffee cake from this thread - doubled the cinnamon cuz we love cinnamon and it was delish!), grapefruit juice

Lunch: Nothing

Appetizers: I was working in the kitchen, so I only nibbled on a few carrots, celery, and broccoli, grabbed a cracker and dipped it in a little spinach dip, and a pita crisp dipped into a little hummus. Everyone else feasted.

Dinner:

salad
cranberry Sauce (both kinds - I had jellied)
olives
rolls
turkey
mashed potatoes
gravy
BIL's dressing
my dressing
sweet potato casserole
yams casserole (w/ pineapples and marshmallows)
green beans with almonds
wine

Dessert: Pumpkin pie with whipped cream; pecan pie; coffee

Bombay style Biryani (just the various spices change a little) with Lamb chops as the meat ingredient.. and some sauteed green beans ..with an eggnog latte for dessert!

I drank it all ..the eggnog, that is... so I'm off to get another quart!

Everyones Thanksgiving meals sound wonderful. We had the usuall fare as well. I took the sweet potatoes, 2 salads and homemade white and wheat rolls. My MIL has the big house but I feel bad letting her do so much work. My SIL has 4 children under 7 and her DH is in Iraq so I do what I can to help out.

DH came home early from work with the stomach bug. So I am making homemade chicken noodle soup. We have some rolls left over from yesterday. Hopefully he will feel up to eating something later. Have a great weekend everyone!!

You can do shepards pie with turkey. Here we had hot turkey, gravy, and dressing sandwiches on fresh rolls and a salad. Desert cherry fluff

Cherry Fluff

I can cherry pie filling
1 cup pinapple tidbits (drained)
1 can sweeten condensed milk
1 cup nuts (your choice I like walnuts or pecans)
1 tub 8 oz cool whip

mix it all together and refrig till cool. Enjoy

We're having our Thanksgiving dinner tonight. I always make one at home, sometime after the dinner at the in-laws. I just have to make a turkey, and I'm not happy until I have a fridge full of leftovers.

Friday we had turkey hash, leftover mashed potatoes, leftover sweet potato casserole, leftover cranberry relish, and icecream with fudge sauce. Last night we had turkey noodle soup made from scratch, using the turkey carcass of course, it was awesome!

and fried egg sandwiches. Tonight we are having roast beef, ( a short break from turkey) some sort of potatoes, probably, and a vegetable.
