Well, changed my mind last night. Ended up having breakfast - waffles w/strawberries and whipped cream and sausages! Could stay in the cool house and not have to face the heat. Today and tomorrow are suposed to be even worse - 108 - 110 - ugh

Add all the smoke into the mix and I would just as soon stay inside all day.

Tonight DH is meeting up with a freind for dinner, so after I take DS out for some driving time (he has his driving test on Thursday and we want to make sure he passes first time!), we'll go out for some dinner, too! Nice to have a break from cooking every now and then.

Last night we had grilled london broil marinated first in mesquite marinade. And lima beans and corn. We ate it all, 'cept my kids wouldn't eat the lima beans :| (I always lpved them and still do) Night before we had grilled sausage hamburgers with swiss cheese, sweet potato fries, bagged salad and store bought cheesecake.

Beef stew with baby carrots, pearl onions and new red potatoes and sour-dough biscuits. YUM-YUM. Unfortunately, the only thing from my garden was the thyme in the stew, but my sour-dough mother is homemade, being carefully nursed along each week in my fridgafreighter.

I made some stirfry for DH ...chicken breast, asparagus, yellow squash, carrots, green beans, snow peas, mushrooms, red peppers, and cauliflower ..onions and garlic, of course ....and SoyVey's Hoisin Garlic sauce. Brown Jasmine steamed...

..and I ate a hot dog. Blah! My stomach is weird today ..I have court tomorrow ...for the thief that I caught in my car a couple weekends ago.

All the previous dinners on this page made my mouth water, though ..guess I ain't too sickly

Good luck today at court, aneesasmuse!

Last night we grilled some Baja marinated chicken thighs.
I made fresh pinto beans in the pressure cooker that were then smashed with garlic and cumin.
Corn
Fresh tortillas.

I made the pintos earlier in the day so that I didn't have to do too much at the end. I took the kids to the beach all afternoon and needed something I could throw on the table fairly easily.

Tonight will be breakfast for dinner.

We don't usually get above 85 very often. We are in the 6th day of 94-96*, it is supposed to stay like this or get hotter until sat.

We are having either spaghetti and meatball with homemade garlic bread or homemade sloppy joes with homemade buns.

We're having Italian stuffed bell peppers with baked potatoes and fresh Swiss chard from the garden. The stuffed peppers were part of a batch that I made the other day to take to son and wife to help with the new baby.

Just got home ..and still don't know what's for dinner, but I better come up with something ..DH has to go in early again tonight.

Backyard Buddies.. is the Baja marinade something you put together, yourself ..or is it in a jar from the market? It sounds interesting ...and I'd love to try it, if you wouldn't mind sharing the ingredients
