last fall I got rid of the 7 roo's I had leaving 8 hens...yes, this was a hatch that wasn't "hen" heavy, so anyway....got rid of all roo's ...hens don't need a roo to lay eggs....well, they totally stopped!!! and still haven't layed any eggs....

so, I decided that they missed the "boys" so I went last Sunday and picked up a very pretty healthy Leghorn Roo....so they are starting to look like they are actually making nests out of their boxes, which they weren't before, but still no eggs...might be a bit premature, but jeez, it's been almost 6 months!!! These hens had just started laying when I so rudely took their men away....so they are only about a year old.....

any advice?

Some breeds don't lay well in the winter. Maybe that is your problem and not the roo. What type of hens do you have? In the breeds section you could look to see what type of layers they are or maybe someone else on here can tell you for sure if it's just a winter problem.
