Update on the egg search...I found someone local to sell me fertile eggs now sitting back waiting for them to lay...the gentleman said he usually get 16 a day but thinks the rain is delaying them...I'm so impatient

Ya the rain will do that as we finally got some rain this week about the third time it rained this year and the hens slowed down on the egg production for several days

Rain is a good thing! Still I am impatient. I have done a years worth of homework and am now ready to start I have 4 adult quail coming the end of march and 6 eggs going into the incubator as soon as I get them....I'm so excited to start this adventure.

Well finally got eggs and set them last night....I'm so very excited. It will be nice to have this first time over and see what I learn!

Well on day 3 of incubation. Temps staying at 99-100 humidity between 42-52 I think all is going well I do believe this is going to be the longest 17 days of my life..

LOL....Very high stress!!! I know the feeling.

Good luck with the hatch! Yes, you will check and stare at those eggs about a million times in the next 17 days, know the feeling!

OK quick question. I have read it is possible to cause chicks to shrink wrap when using a forced air incubator. So far all 6 eggs are doing great candled and all are viable. Should I turn my fan off at lockdown ( this coming Monday) or will that mess up the whole hatch. Temps and humidity has stayed perfect this whole time.
