Hi There! I'm New Here.

Hey Dawn! Welcome to BYC! I have had Light Brahmas in the past and that looks like a hen to me. But I'm not all that good at sexing chickens... Anyway, good luck with your flock in the future! If you have any questions, there are hundreds of chicken enthusiasts ready to laugh at your jokes, cry at your losses, and help in any way they can! Best of Luck!
P.S. I love your hobbies!!! :)

Thank you! I'm hoping. I posted a few more pics.

Hi, Dawn, and welcome to BYC. Your light Brahma is a cockerel.

I feel like at this point it could be a cockerel or a hen... Is he/she making any odd noises? Before my little guys start to crow they always make a sound like a dying elephant or something! :)
No - pretty much sounds like everyone else at this point. I read a few places that their brahmas started crowing pretty early.

I raised a batch of five light brahmas. We kept them until they were a few monthes old when we gave them away. Two turned out to be roos, but the only sign they showed at our house was a wierd raspy noise once in a while and they were a bit larger than the girls.
P.S. Completely off topic, but my Brahmas names were Marshmallow, Cream Puff, Puffin, Penguin, and Koala. Marshmallow and Cream Puff were the boys! :)

Hmm...ok. No weird sounds yet at 16 weeks. And from what I understand they are all 7 to even 14 pounds or more!

Too funny about the names. This one's name is Sassy. My husband picked the name because she looks like Sasquatch with her feathery feet.
