"Phoebe" Fay called when they were close enough. She hoped the dragon would recognize her voice.
Phoebe tilted her head slightly to the side as recognition slowly came to her. She visibly relaxed her features, and stopped growling. Realizing she had visitors, she commanded, "announce yourselves." Her voice echoed down from the cave, a hint of fear flavoring her booming voice. She had not forgotten her ordeal in the hands of the menagerie, and knew there was more than one there.

Asclepius lowered his head and tail. He still felt guilty, even though he hadn't done anything wrong. "If I had answered her call, she would have been fine. She would not have been captured. If I had been there for her... " He sighed heavily. Asclepius never bothered with mating and the hassle of fatherhood. He had always felt such a thing would tie him down too long. He just wasn't interested. But now, since no other seemed to be around, was it now his responsibility to become a father, despite loosing his freedom for at least fifty years? He had always been a tumbleweed in the past, never staying anywhere for too long.
But personal problems weren't important here.
He squared his shoulders, reared his head back, and elicited a roar that announced his presence as a male golden dragon, loud, long and reverberating. His wings flared out as his voice echoed to the ocean.

(dang, I was trying to upload images of Asian style stilt houses, but my phone is being a jerk. Oh well! Like those ones in Hong Kong, Indonesia, or the Philippines)

Slygotha slipped into the canal, feeling a bit claustrophobic in the shadowy, narrow tributary. There were small fishing boats tied to the shore, pulled up on the muddy banks to prevent their escape. The outskirts of the big city held the unfortunate poor who could not afford to live within it's main boundaries, and the banks were dotted with huts on stilts, wives hanging laundry from the windows, screeching children playing carelessly in the slums, and old men smoking their pipes quietly observing the world go by. The whole place smelled like fish, and was hot and humid.
(Wow, you're so descriptive I can see it and smell it. :) )
Anubis broke away to skirt around a hut to snag some dry clothing for Slygotha and her young. He left currency in exchange on the line. He then hurried back to the river and bit up stream.

Jackie held onto Bertram's mane, watching the forest as they rode through it together. It really was beautiful and serene, especially now that it held the small life forms to make it more real.

Anna nodded, giving him a smile before she got in and buckled. "I'm glad we can share those moments together."
(Phase them out for now. I need to dust off Markus and start with my Russians again. )

Zypher grinned and started the car. He glanced back to pull out and headed to the rendezvous point. He just hoped Sasha could help them with useful Intel. He was hyper vigilant as they got out on the highway. But so far, nothing caught his eye. "Just a heads up, Sasha is straightforward and crude at times." He said in way of conversation.

Fay looked to Asclepius as he roared, covering her ears because they were that close then smiling. "Xatia and I are here as well." She called when the echoes faded.

~~~
Anna nodded at his words "I understand and will try not to let anything she says get to me." She said softly. She might blush a lot, but she would try not to.
Slithering onto the shore under a stilted home with tarps stretched over the windward side, Slygotha took on her human shape as she received the proffered clothing. Her lip curled slightly in disgust as she sniffed it, the musty human smells lingering all over the articles. Despite his seeming easy going nature, Slygotha felt it wise not to reject the gift, as it would indeed allow her to blend in even better than her mock shadowy garments, and she did not want to test the limits of a God's charity. Slipping lithely into the well worn dress, the cotton draped loosely over her delicate features, something Slygotha appreciated as she was not used to the restrictions of clothing. The movement of the cloth against her skin felt weird and irritating. She was glad her skin had recovered from shedding her scales earlier.
Slygotha motioned for the wyrmlings to follow suit in donning their respective clothes. She was unaware of any particular code of dress, however, so let them dress as they pleased from the articles available. Nidhogg chose a simple shift dress that came just above the knee. Her own long black hair cascaded down her back. The idea of pants was more restrictive than she was ready for. "Mother, it smells like stinky food," whispered Nidhogg to Slygotha.
