Is your name Tom and are you a boy? Seems to me if your not named Billie or live in the hills then you can be any of these things. Your just a girl.

Hahaha exactly!! Of course it also shocked one of my sisters when I asked for power tools for Christmas. And got them. Along with some quilting supplies...
Call me Amber. Call me Tiny. Call me eclectic. Maybe even a hillbilly tomboy... But don't EVER call me late for dinner!!

I'm of Scotch-Irish stock and most of my folks are from Alabama. I've been known to drink whiskey and chaw tobacco. Am I a hillbilly? Better believe it! I'm hoping my Great Uncle leaves me his still after he's gone. As for dogs I only have one and a good one at that! Guns? Men folk for the most part prefer rifles, except the ones that have a tendency to stay three sheets to the wind, they prefer shotguns. The women folk, it's a 50/50 split between shotguns and handguns. We usually distrust outsiders but if we like you we'll feed you, if we don't like you.... well you have heard of S.S.S. .

Just kidding. Just a little insight to my background. By the way my brother is constantly telling me to" put your shoes on, you don't want them to think you"re a hillbilly". My reply "but we are".

Wikipedia says that - Origins of the term "hillbilly" are obscure however it is well known in Ireland that:
Hillbilly - comes from the "forced clearances of the Catholic Church in Ireland" after the potato famine. The Protestants were Scots/Irish decent and referred to as Williamites, supporters of William of Orange. They settled in the hills around Tennessee. Many of these folk were very poor and illiterate and were known as Hillbilly’s. - Williamites who settled in the hills of Tennessee. If you look at the music and culture of the Hillbilly – it is very similar to that of the Irish especially country style music that would be very like our Irish music here today. Likewise Poteen/Poitín is often refered to as Irish Moonshine, which of course is another Irish/Hillbilly link.
