(The other RP is so inactive)

(I just posted on there. I'm working on making the story for this RP more interesting, and explaining more things, but I'll focus more on the other RP too for now.)

Janette, tucking her clipboard under her arm, closed the door behind her. She had just finished a checkup with a patient, an older man who seemed to be continually screaming nonsense. After his shouting at her for half an hour nonstop, she had a piercing headache. She needed to attend one more patient before lunch, but first, an Advil was in order.

"I think I get the idea"

"Good. So, I have created a new kind of human. They are more animal-like right now, but with some evolution that's bound to happen, they will be even more intelligent than humans and in the end, will be able to rule the world differently. They're rather...Aggressive at the moment, but with an established territory they will calm down."

"The way I created this new species is by just using a human. I created something that's almost like a virus, and once it enters the human body it starts to change them. And over time, they turn into the creatures that I put into the forest. So, you see, this homeless shelter isn't really a shelter. I am using it to change the world, not just help someone for a short period of time. Yes, there must be some sacrifices, but some of the humans do survive. There must be about fifty of those creatures in the forest, they survived the testing."
Dr. Mythe explained this all to Nathan, acting as if this all made perfect sense and was completely reasonable. He still hadn't told him everything, but after all, Nathan was only a worker and only needed to know the basics.

"So...Do you still want the job?" He asked, and now had a more menacing expression.

Janette carried a glass of water to her room and set it on the nightstand. She opened the top drawer and dug around for a moment before finding the small white bottle labeled Advil. Popping a couple pills into her mouth, followed by a large sip of water, she sat down on the edge of her bed and looked around. The room was a reasonable size, containing a bed, a nightstand, an armoire and a window seat, as well as a small desk. A shelf above the desk was lined with random nick-nacks that she had collected over her life. An oval frame containing a photograph of her parents adorned the nightstand and was accompanied by a short lamp. Janette scooted back and laid her head on the pillow, telling herself she would just close her eyes for a minute. However, she was soon fast asleep.

The voices in the hallway had faded. Emily walked to her window and looked out at the forest. She was deep in thought about her brother Dean and wondered what he was like when he was still alive. Suddenly a dark figure came out of the forest, stopped briefly, and ran back into the tree line. "What was that!" Emily wondered. She had never seen anything like it in her life, yet it looked sort of human. "Is that what is in the forest that everyone seems so scared of?" Emily waited patiently for the figure to reappear but it didn't.

Emily decided to take a hot bath, but when she turned on the tap, no water came out. "They must think I will drown myself so they have shut off the water. Oh well, sponge bath it is." Emily undressed and proceeded to wash herself at the sink. As the steam from the hot water clouded the mirror a message began to appear on the glass. "HELP US" Emily's heart began to race. She dried herself and redressed as quickly as she could. She wiped the message from the mirror, and her towel caught on the corner of the metal frame. The mirror fell and shattered on the sink. Emily backed away and looked at the destruction that lay before her.

"Now I've done it. Someone will have heard that and will come to see what happened" Emily despaired. She used her wet towel to push the glass fragments into a pile in the corner of the bathroom. She stood up and looked at the wall where the mirror was, and saw a dingy white plastic rectangle stuck to the wall. It was a key card! Emily couldn't believe her eyes. She took the card off the wall and tucked it in her pants pocket. Her mind raced with possibilities.

"Get out now!" Boomed Dean's voice. "If I leave now, someone will see me for sure. My best chance is at night when most of the staff are asleep" Emily said. She sat in the corner chair plotting her escape and waiting for nightfall.
