Thank you. Since my eggs can be done on three different sizes (bantam, lg chicken/duck & goose) I thought it would make sense to price them according to size which is also according to time

Your wooden eggs look like drop pull eggs. Have you ever tried to decorate them with wax?

I forgot to ask if your gourds are painted or dyed?

Oh, I didn't realize they had to dry out for a year but I guess now that I think about it that makes sense since they are a live vegetable (wait! are they a vegetable?)

When you decorate them you should be sure to post a separate thread showing pics of them!

The gourds were this color when i got them --I have done some other gourds like this though and I just kind of thinned out my jewel color paints and applied them like stain. Then a coat of finish. I have never used wax,but checked your link and that is very interesting because my eggs do look like that.Same strokework but I do mine with a brush. very cool!

Have you ever used leather stain/paints on the gourds? I've seen some decorated this way years ago but can't remember where lol.

I think those brush strokes are common in tole painting. Years ago I commissioned an artist to make me a foot stool (when my college going kids were little) with our last name and geese and hearts on it and she explained then that her decorating style was tole painting. I've always loved that style.
