I was just trying to be a good BYC'er and share my recipes. Remember they are homemade, so they have to be good for you!

What? Low Carb? Nooooo...surely they're carb-less.

All the carbs, fat and bad stuff leaks out when you cut the holes in the center

looking at my GD's carb book, it shows that homemade donuts are actually lower in carbs than most name brand ( ie: chain brands)
for plain home made the carb count for1 1/4 oz donut ( average size) is 25 carbs

for a top chain brand the carbs are same weight, is 29

for a raised sugar donut the carb is 22, for the same weight.
break down follows
170 calories
8gm fat
22 carbs.
so if on a diet you can technically have 1 donut and exchange it later.
but I am not so sure anyone can ever eat just one LOL.

remember when dieting as I have learned, calories are a big part of losing weight but watch the sneaky carbs, thats were the real weight issues come from.
ex: 360 calories and 54 gm of carbs, you just defeated the lower calorie intake.

i am soooooooooooo going to make these today!! We had
mashed potatoes with dinner last night and i left some out w/o milk or butter to freeze until i saw this idea.

The picture with all the donuts, was that from one batch or more? I may try this but if that's one batch, I may split the dough and try to freeze it or cut the recipe in 1/2. That's alot of Beautiful donuts and would be way too tempting for my children to finish them all off.........Donut Eating Contest!

Yes, the picture is from one batch!! I think one batch makes about 70-80 donuts plus donut holes! I forgot to mention that in my first post.
