I ran across the following and remember how you like to put DH to work.I asked my husband to clean the water bottles in our chick brooders the other day. 15 minutes later I see him playing with his computer again! I said did you clean those bottles or what? He said of course! Wait for the video if you think I'm lying.. Good grief charlie brown. He owes me 1 brush by the way!
He might take this idea next time you ask him to peel potatoes.I love the barefoot part, standing in water and a "plugged into wall" drill.I ran across the following and remember how you like to put DH to work.He might take this idea next time you ask him to peel potatoes.

so i made these bucket feeders, out of plastic buckets i got at the dollar store for $1.70 and they work great, no spilling or waist, i just hang them hi enough so the birds can just get their heads in and bend their neck so they can peck around to get as much feed as the want.
HA

that was a good idea, but dang, this guy is in his bare feet in water..?????I ran across the following and remember how you like to put DH to work.He might take this idea next time you ask him to peel potatoes.

thats fantastic....!!!
but me to i hate cleaning those chick water feeders , this is a totally great idea
& this idea will really help out great..!!! excellent your hubby deserves 5 stars & a nice fancy desert for good thinking..!!
i use those chick water feeders 2 different ways , firstly i use them the way they have been designed for use , feeding day old chicks water, but then after they are older and wiser like a week or more old , then i clean the water feeders and turn them upside down..! and drill a hole into the center top of the bottle part & use them turned up side down as a nipple water feeder, but no worries after, you do that, you can still use those water feeders the regular old fashioned way they were made for , the day old chicks , the nipple in the top of the bottle part you installed does not in any way harm the old fashioned water feeder but when you want to you can use them the 2nd way i invented to use them as a nipple water feeder , so this is how i did it, wile holding it upside down drill out a hole in the top center of the bottle part, use a 11/32 drill bit , or follow the instructions that came with your water nipples, then screw in one water nipple in the center to create a nipple water feeder , then i hang the nipple water feeder up side down in their pen so they cant spill or knock the water feeders over ever again...HA and their water stays cleaner wile still using the same water bottle feeders...!!!! HA

the nipples look like this below , plus you can also make your own water bottle nipple feeders out of any size bottles, like the second pic shows. i hand gallon size bottles on the fence with the one nipple in them , in my rooster pens & put a hose in the top of each one , so when i turn on the one hose it feeds all the gallon jugs all at once...!!!!!! i get my water nipples at amazon, i get like 10 for a dollar some thing ...!!
Diannastarr, That is called living on the edge....that was a good idea, but dang, this guy is in his bare feet in water..?????![]()
