Hoover’s mystery chick?

I believe this chick was SUPPOSED to be one of the barred rock chicks we ordered. But it’s not looking like the rest... it doesn’t have any barring and has a little white on the underside. He is about 2 weeks old

Black australorp maybe?

No expert and it's hard to tell in that light, but if the bottoms of those feet are actually yellow the way they look then it could be a Jersey Giant.

If they're white it's more likely to be an Australorp.

I’ll guess Black Jersey Giant bc of the very yello feet bottoms. BJG look like that (black with white bellies) as chicks - and so do Australorp, but the bottom of the feet distinguish one from the other. Both BJG and BA have single combs, and slate/black legs.

Yeah, looks like my black australorp that would have come from Hoover as well.

Yep! The feet are definitely yellow! That also would explain why it is already larger than the other chicks. Thank you!

What a weird weather day!

Aug 2 and I had to wear pants and a jacket outside earlier. It is 2 pm and it is only 68F. It has rained a lot over the past several days. All out of the ordinary for weather here. Tues-Wed-Thurs nights will be in the 50s!!! The break in temp is nice, just unexpected.
