Horizontal nipple revolution! Need input

Your birds are still little so you won't see any dripping or gulping. They scoop up drops by moving the pin to the side. It doesn't take very much pressure at all to move the pin that way. When they get older, they learn to hold the pin to the side longer for a bigger drink. The babies just take a small drink at a time but more often. If you had a smaller container you'd be able to easily monitor the water level which would show you that they're getting plenty of water.

This is off topic, sorry. The crop is full at night, but by morning should be empty right?

If they have a light at night, their crop will always be full since they will get up and eat. If they don't have a light, it will empty out.
