Is there a specific way to dismount a horse? All this time riding horses, and I just skip my right foot out, fling it over the saddle, hang on to the saddle as I eventually slip out.

Is there a specific way to dismount a horse? All this time riding horses, and I just skip my right foot out, fling it over the saddle, hang on to the saddle as I eventually slip out.

I dismount differently but I suppose there are two different ways. My way is taking both feet out and swinging my right leg over and slowly lowering myself onto the ground.

Really I don’t think there is a specific way. I do the same as you do. I think it just depends on the person and what they are comfortable doing because I used to swing my leg over then drop then take the other foot out but now I just swing out.
