Thanks for the photo progression. I really hope Ceopatra isn't a male but I fear she is. It is just odd, however, that just now at week 12 she is beginning to show more boyish "hair" and face coloring. Looney was right away having crazy hair and his face turned much earlier, so with him I had no doubt. I hate it if we have two boys. Our one little girl certainly can't handle that attention. We will have to find a home for one of them.

Do the girls get any comb at all? The only way I can see Looney's is to pull his feather back and look, so I can't tell from your pics if the girls have anything. Do the girls faces redden when they are ready to lay? I know that is how it was with our sex-links last year.

Also, do the boys always have an uglier "nose"? It appears so in your pics and if that is true, then Cleopatra will become Zeus (according to my son).

I can't see any comb at all even when I pull back her crest. Same with Gigi. If he has one, it is VERY small.

The nares were the biggest difference I noticed. Gigi has massive nostrils where Skittles is very feminine.

Darn it!!!!!!!! I love all three! They are so sweet and cuddly and come to us to be held. We have Roo overload! Both Looney and Cleo (now Zeus I guess

) both have nubs of "horns" and huge nostrirals. Crap, crap, crap

! I don't want to get rid of any of them. Oh well, hopefully another local Houdan lover will want one. Thanks for the info. even if I am disappointed with the result.

Well a man named Dave West has some very very nice houdans i bought a couple from him and i have gotten high remarks. As for the Houdans at Murray Mcmurray are not the best quality houdans but certainly are better than these 4 toe breeders out there my favorite bird was a houdan from Murray and she had gr8 weight and coloring and perfect seperated toes and was def not a mix!!!!!

Well I went out and examined chicken nostrils ............................................................ never thought I'd say that. lol Anyway the smaller one w/ slower tail developement and smaller top knot has bigger nostrils. The one w/ the V in her top knot is substantially larger then the other, bigger rounder top knot and smaller nostrils. So so far it looks like big girl and small boy. Whooda thunk??? lol
