How big/small is your town?

Well the Seattle metro area is about 3 1/2 million. 15th largest in the USA.
The burb I live in is about 100,000.

Imp- and I know every one.

Oh, that sounds like a familiar scenario, we are always hearing stories on the news here about little towns where the businesses are closing down and the young folk are flocking to the cities to try and find employment. We're doing this whole thing in geography, how soon 60% (or was it 80%?) of the world population is going to live in the city someday soon.

And then what will happen to our food supply? Someone's got to be out there manning the farms.

Spook: That does sound like a lovely little town you describe. You appear to have quite a way with words. Sounds idyllic.

My town has a population of about 1,000. We have one grocery store, a useless hospital, three gas stations, a Dollar General ( which was the most exciting thing to happen in 15 years!), an elementary school, (although we paid $$ for our kids to go to school in a different town), a dentist, two pharmacies, and one intersection controlled by traffic lights. The nearest big town is 45 minutes away.

We are smack in the middle of it too. I love it. It still feels like a small town (our community) but we have the conveniences of a bigger city.

I can't find info on just the village, only the whole township which has about 3000 people. The village is one main street that is probably 1/4 mile long and thats it.

I lived just outside of a town with a population of 24,000, but after meeting SO we have since moved north about 35 miles to a town with a population of 2,000.

I went from living on a gravel road to living (quite literaly) on a highway, right smack in the middle of town. I am still trying to get used to the highway noises, and I still find it hard to sleep at times, but the small town atmosphere suits me quite nicely. I like my new town so much better than the old one, I can't even put it in words.

Now, if I could just have that gravel road back...
