I'm reading this and thinking what happens to all those extra ducklings from TSC?
I'm avoiding TSC too, although an employee there told me that they don't sell ducks in MA, you have to order them at a minimum of 30!
Thursday I was as in NH for work and saw a TSC, I was tempted but couldn't find a place to park the truck. Just what I need a truck full of ducks!

I get my chicks and ducks from hillsboro nh agway.
However I sometimes hatch my own chicks

I have 4 ducks black female runner and female black swedish.
My drakes are black swedish and the other is a rouen.
My females are laying now and i am pretty sure they are fertile..
As much as I would love to try and hatch them all I dont have enough room for oodles of ducks..

Was thinking of just giving some away for free if anyone wanted to try

Yep, I can't tell you how many times I have seen people complain about tractor supply mislabeling chickens and ducks. :lau

I know ts up here doesn't even let you pick up the chicks they have them in their bins but have them surrounded by live stock fencing and there is a min I would have to buy

I go to agway they have them in the bins right in a big area by the register and every time I got in I have to stop myself from getting in and rolling around with chicks and ducks
Then I have to refrain from picking up each and everyone giving them a little smooch and putting them back Haha

I usually end up with leaving with at least 2.
Last year I ordered 2 ducks but I went in before mine came in and there was some there and ended up with my runner and rouen

I was told they were runners.
Ordered a rouen and a cayuga and ended up with 2 swedish lol

I dont understand why they are not labeled when they arrive at at the store

Lucky though I wasn't upset over not getting all the breeds I wanted

I will still get my poultry from agway as I never had an issues with any of the ones I have got.

My hatching eggs I order on line from Meyers

My, how these ducklings have grown! The three Runners are definitely Runners and the Mallard seems correctly ID'd, too.

The two wild cards are the one that's developing buff coloring (foreground in photo below) and the smaller one with the blue bill (to the left of the bigger Runner above). Still looking like Buffs or maybe Saxony? I'm not convinced the two remaining "mystery" ducks are even of the same breed.

We're all enjoying the 80-degree, low humidity day here. :celebrate

I want to sit in middle of them all and just love up on them

I've had an epiphany: I think the small yellowish (still downy) duck with the blue bill may actually be a silver or splash Swedish! Check post #7 in this thread for adult pics.

Her bill is blue, orange legs, and there appears to be a white bib now (with her Buff or maybe Saxony friend). Thoughts?
