Hello!

I have a bantam Cochin sitting on some eggs and I’m just wondering how cold is too cold for them? I candled them today and at least three have some activity (it’s only day two 1/2) so I just want to be sure as this is my first time letting a hen sit. I only live in Florida, so extreme cold is not a thing, but temps are going to be around 44 the next week at the lowest. I don’t think it will be a problem, but I’m just checking.

Thanks!

It's too early to see anything if it's only been 2 days, if you counted the first day as a day. Of you didn't, it's not even been 2 days. It takes atleast 5 days to see any thing. Or she's been sitting longer than you thought.
But no, it's not too cold.

It may have been 4 days, but there is definitely something in three of them. Little veins and they’re generally darker. But I was just wondering about the temp, so thanks for reassuring me ☺️
