How do all you Northeners do it?

up here in the PNW it is about 40 and pretty balmy, saw a few snow flakes yesturday when it was 29 out, but nothing stuck. haven't had any snow stick since the week before TG, and that lasted a few hours

I had 5 degrees here. We had a snow day from school because already there is more than a foot of snow. With the wind chill, it was like -1.

I got locked out of the house this morning, so I threw a can of soda at my sister's bedroom window until she let me in! I was outside without a coat for half an hour!

We are retired so we can just sit in front of this if we don't want to go out ~

But if we need to dig out we have this with a 5' plow ~

We have a 250' driveway with large parking area to clear as well as paths to the coops, bee hives and if it's too deep a potty path for our beagle.

Actually it isn't La Nina or La Nino--it's the North Atlantic Oscillation that is causing cold air to move further south.

We only went down to -15 last night

Up to -2 or so now. I was talking to my mother last night (she's in PA) and it was -10 at the time. I was musing that -10 is 42 degrees below freezing. 42 degrees above freezing is 74. I'll take that! And it would only need to go up 84 degrees to get there!

Besides, if it weren't for the cold and snow, when would you find time to sit by the fire with your feet up and go through the seed catalogs planning next summer's garden?

Then again, it's obviously giving me too much time because I have been working on my chick wish list. Now I need to find a way to trim it down, I don't think DH would like me getting $600 worth of chicks (though some are poults). And I haven't even touched the hatchery catalog yet!
