you don't really HAVE to call them do you. haha. But for some reason you do. I'm enjoying all the different replies here. Keep 'em coming.

I like the chick-un chick-un. is it CHICK-unnnnn CHICK-unnnn? just how it came out for me. I am "borrowing" that one if ya don't mind.

oh and when we do a cheek snuggle its
"who's a good chicken?" followed with "wazza wazza wazza"

I know, I need help. Too much fun. more chicken talk please!!!

I don't have to call them as they come running as soon as they hear the back door open. If I am simply greeting them I say "Hello my pretties!". If we have food for them I just say "Nom noms!" (on icanhascheezburger.com noms are food)

Keep keep keep - Don't bother asking, dunno why. Theres lots of things I can't explain on this farm. Like why my baby cow insists on pooing on my BEDROOM FLOOR. (Yes I know. Close the door. Got it)

It never fails to amuse me when i head down to the chicken coop. they can hear the sound of my barn boots on the gravel drive and they come from the 4 corners of the farm. I also sometimes call "here girly girls!" and they come runnin as well. Even the two roos. They are only interested in one thing, does momma have any treats. When they find out I have none, they go off to scratchin in the dirt. Watching chickens run is really funny for sure.

If they're not swarming me by the time I get to the door (they come running when I jiggle the doorknob), I'll say "here chick chick".

I'm working on teaching my 2 chicks to come to me now. Somehow I think they'll get the hang of it once they realizer that human = food.

edited b/c it's "working" not "wrokgin"

I always call mine collect. I figure I raised them and gave them a place to live and by golly they can pay for the call!

I don't need to say anything either if they see me come out they are right there before I can get down 3 steps. BUT if they go across the road to the house next door I say, get over on your on side of the road and they come over looking like they know they are being bad. Now I guess I will let them out and go get my eggs. Have a good day everyone.
