How do you make cottage cheese taste good?

I like it with pineapple, pears, peaches.

I like it w/ salt and pepper.

I use it as a dip with chips.

Can you tell I love cottage cheese (low fat, small curd in the big tubs)

Try it with sugar free jello.

You could look up some (1970's) jello salad recipes and have the fruit and cottage cheese snack as a jello salad. While we make fun of them jello salads are actually quite nice.

My mother used to make a couple of different "jello" salads.

One was a lime green that had cottage cheese... ahh... you just brought back some wonderful memories.

We never had jello salads as kids. We had jello but it was a novelty type treat. Raised in the south by women who cooked everything from scratch and canned and pickled and jellied everything in sight in the summer and you find jello to them wasn't something you kept on hand too often unless it was unflavored and used to make something else.

In school we got those fruit and jello cups at lunch but not the salad counterpart. I was in my 20's the first time I had a jello salad. I found it delightful.

And we are growing both fresh basil, AND fresh tomatoes in our little container garden. Our deck is FULL of containers growing fresh peppers, tomatoes, cauliflower, leaf lettuce, brussel sprouts, and a number of fresh herbs.

Mmmmmm -- cottage cheese with homemade apple butter! If only my Pa Dutch grandma was still alive! Go nuts with those fresh herbs, Chris, and get creative. I've heard (never tried) that mashed banana and cottage cheese is a good dessert.
