Tie strings to the bottom of the eye screw so when you place it in the 'cicle the strings float out from it into the liquid. It will help the 'cicle to stay hanging as the screw warms from the top and loosens as the 'cicle melts.
Or, how about taking a piece of string and making a loop, and suspend it in the top of the 'cicle, draping the string over the side so it doesn't sink into the liquid? Should work.
