How long after a hen is removed from a rooster will her eggs remain fertile? I have a new hen and was thinking of getting her eggs incubated.

The correct answer for chickens is no more than 5 days. There can be instances of hens remaining fertile for longer periods but don't bet the farm on it.

    Oh that reminds me...... [IMG]

I have had hens fertile as long as 10 days after the rooster is removed from the flock. That is why us old timers always recommend waiting 2 weeks.
