How Long Do I Continue Treatment?

It has been 5 days now of orally dosing Tylan 50 (going approx 1.2 cc) as she is a smaller hen (Salmon Favorelle) and also doing Vet Rx for poultry in conjunction with antibiotic. She still has some frothyness in her eyes but seems to be livelier and her face (comb, around eyes and wattles) have turned a bright healthy red color. Not sure since we are still showing frothyness in eyes if I should switch to another antibiotic or continue longer.. also note that noone else in the flock has ever come down with any symptoms and everyone eats/drinks and hangs out together using same spaces and feeders/waterers.

Tylan 50 is the recommended antibiotic for respiratory infections, so I wouldn't switch antibiotics at this point. However, I have very limited experience in dealing with respiratory infections, so I can't make any suggestions other than that.

I hope she continues to improve. And here's a BUMP to hopefully get someone with more experience to answer your questions.

Good luck.

I think you're doing the right thing! I haven't used tylan so I don't know about treatment times, but it sounds like the bird is getting better.

Since you are administering it orally, you can dose her 2 more days then stop...a total of 7 days. There's not many more antibiotics that are more potent than tylan. Baytril is more potent but I believe it requires a script from a vet.
