how long do I keep them before letting them out?

I might be getting some more pigeons, how long do I keep them penned up before letting them out?

Do you mean letting them out with the other pigeons, letting them out to fly. Need more information.

Not sure I would fly pouters but for rollers 30days, a month, 4 weeks... some where in that range, whatever you want to count.

Are you in a populated area, lots of cats, cars etc. Pouters fly ok if you do not have lots of things that will get them when they are out. They are pretty cool to see walking around on the yard, but do not fly fast or do not have lots of sence so would be easy for preditors to get.
Rollers would depend on age etc. Make sure you get them accoustomed to their new loft and surrondings first.

I live in the country no cats around. My dogs are fine with any birds around here.​
