Is it ok to wash them before storing them in fridge? We have about two dozen eggs in fridge for about 3 weeks, and they were all washed in cold-ish water before going in fridge. Are they still safe to eat?

Eggs (if washed) need to be washed in very warm water - washing them in cold water supposedly can force germs through the pores of the eggs.

After you wash eggs they MUST be refrigerated as it washes off the bloom, which protects from spoiling.

Unwashed eggs last a long time out of refrigeration...don't know how long but it would be longer than washed eggs.

We like to use hot water but just rinse them and use a tooth brush out of water to get the dirt, poop etc. Then dry them off and store in fridge.
