How long on medicated feed

Starter alone is not available here where I live. Starter/grower combo is what I have to buy. That takes them all the way to laying age and you can get it in medicated or non-medicated. The med is a coccidiostat, a thiamine blocker, to combat cocci and it wont hurt them to start laying while on it.

I read the bag this morning its nutrena chick starter/grower but what I noticed is it didnt say medicated now I know the first bag I bought said medicated so if im feeding non-medicated for the past couple of weeks can I switch back they are 6wks old now?

Fay, I noticed in your post that you have pygmy goats. Do you think it's okay to pasture and house them with chickens? I've only had mine together for a week, no problems yet.

We never feed medicated feed and the chicks are fine, but they should be on a higher protien and lower calcuim ration until they are laying age.

The higher levels of calcium is said to cause tissue/organ dammage, and they need the protein to grow!
