That one didn't fully absorb its yolk, looks like to me. Put it in a small container or bowl, lined with soft rag or paper towel, to immobilize it, just so it doesn't drag it around and rip it open. Back in the incubator is best too, since it won't be able to move closer or away from the warmth.
(little butter bowls or sour cream sized bowls work great)

How long should I do this for? Put it in the middle (shouldn’t be too hot or cold, especially w the cardboard and papertowel insulation) I hope I don’t have to cull it!

Has the little one with the yolk patch continued to absorb it? It will be fine as long as it keeps absorbing it and it isn't picked on by the others before it's gotten it completely absorbed, assuming it is where it can keep its body temperature level. I saw it mentioned to put it back in the incubator. That's exactly what should be done. Safe, away from others, even temperatures, and peaceful, so it can rest.

It’s survived but I don’t think it’s continued to absorb it - it’s about 36 hours old and the incubator has a grated bottom so I fear it will rip off the piece as the chick is in there - it is not getting picked on as it’s so far under and against the chick the others can’t see or get to it.

Every hatch reminds me why I only have one child. A few nights of stressful caregiving, anxious watching, googling, and little sleep take a toll on me - I don’t think I could last if these hatched were babies  haha! Thank you to everyone for their continued support - I love this site!

There's still plenty of time for it to absorb a yolk sac.

I can't tell from the picture if there's anything other than a yolk sac there. It might take a few days. If it's not just that, if it's a hernia, it could be very bad. Especially if it's got an intestine loop involved. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that it's just a slow absorber, so to speak.

Please bump the above - I think I have to cull - sick to my stomach. Can I try to push it back in or is that pointless and will cause the chick pain prior to having to cull anyway?

have you tried giving it water and food? also I think it's more then just a unabsorbed yolk I think it's his well his insides and would not try to push them back in. I had a chick I had to cull last night had really bad wry neck did not even notice as I was busy with other issues he was having. It's not easy to cull no lie there but it's best to do it quick I use a very sharp pair of scissors and well think you get where I'm going.

I hope someone with more knowledge here will jump in. personally I would cull if it's getting thin and all of that.
